by ElenaSergeeva

Lefkada is one of the most popular Ionian islands which attracts thousands of visitors yearly and has hotels to suit every traveler. For those seeking a more luxurious escape, the Crystal Waters Lefkada is an ultimate choice.

Located in the area of Nikiana, this brand new property opened its doors in 2018.  A total of 60 luxury suites, some with their own private pools offer guests a relaxing island retreat.

Accommodation at Crystal Waters Lefkada

During our stay at Crystal Waters Lefkada, we enjoyed the comfort and facilities of our Emerald Suite (48m2) — a spacious two level accommodation with a private pool.

The interiors are done up with earth tone colors of browns and greys. The boho chic inspired furniture adds up to the relaxed vibe of the resort. The simple stone floors and wooden accents complement the overall ambience.

The bedrooms is located on the second level which can be reached by a staircase and opens up to the azure Ionian Sea. The bathroom with a walk-in shower is found on the ground floor.

In room facilities include a kettle, flat-screen TV, air-conditioning and complimentary Wi-Fi.

Dining and Wining

The resort’s dining options include the Duende Lefkada which serves exquisite Mediterranean flavours overlooking the shimmering pool.

During our stay at the resort we savoured some delectable dishes which for starters included octopus served on fava, smoked eel complemented by the refreshing flavor of pickled vegetable and lentil salad.

For mains we had poached sea-bass fillet accompanied with orzo, tamarisk salad with touches of bottarga from Messolonghi and linguine with prawns and mussels cooked in fresh tomato sauce.

We ended our dinner with a sensational cheesecake with a twist followed by shisha at the Nargile Lounge.

During the day guests may enjoy a punchy menu of the Emerald Restaurant located by the pool, serving refreshing salads, juicy burgers, fish specialties and meat dishes.

We tried the refreshing quinoa salad, grilled salmon and tender chicken skewer served on top of pita bread and accompanied with fresh hand-cut potatoes. For those with a sweet tooth, make sure to try the mouthwatering crème brûlée.

Breakfast is served at the Emerald Restaurant where guests can enjoy a rich selection of hot and cold dishes as well as freshly prepared omelettes.

Hotel facilities

Crystal Waters Lefkada features three pools, ample relaxation areas and private cabanas which can be reserved for the day. At the heart of the property the main pool draws the eye out towards the Ionian Sea and beyond.

Admire it over cocktails or juices from one of the lounge chairs or the swim-up bar. The trendy boho-chic bar is the perfect place for Instagram worthy photos.

Parents can also take advantage of the Kid’s Club located on the resort’s grounds and sneak in for a relaxing massage at the hotel’s massage corner.

Location

Crystal Waters Lefkada is located a 12 kilometre drive from Lefkada Town, and 23 kilometres from the Aktion Airport. Lefkada is famous for its worldly known beaches, and some of the most popular ones are Kathisma Beach and Porto Katsiki.

Kathisma Beach is located 25 kilometres from Crystal Waters Lefkada, approximately a 40 minute drive. This beach enjoys easy access, stunning crystal clear waters and silky white sand. This is an organised beach with many sunbeds available for rent as well as tavernas where you can enjoy a hearty Greek lunch or dinner overlooking the Ionian Sea.

There are two ways to reach Porto Katsiki, with a car which takes you through some winding roads or by boat, which is a more relaxed option. For the adventurous type, the drive is approximately  an hour and 30 minutes, after which you will have to follow some stairs to reach the beach. This is an unorganised beach, therefore make sure to bring some food and water. Although there are beach boys selling food and water which you can order from a selected menu.
