Built to resemble a Medieval castle, the Spa & Wellness Hotel Zámek Lužec is characterised by its hunting chateau style and pristine natural surroundings.
Set in the heart of the Ore Mountains, just a short 15-minute drive from the centre of Karlovy Vary this four star hotel offers noble accommodation designed with kings and queens in mind.
The hotel interiors transfer guest to the era of the Czech King Charles IV— first King of Bohemia, an idealised ruler who is commonly referred to as the father of the country.
Spa & Wellness Hotel Zámek Lužec: Hotel Overview
Spa & Wellness Hotel Zámek Lužec features 62 guest rooms which vary from single accommodation, to standard double, deluxe rooms, suite and apartment.
Decorated with massive wood furniture, wooden floors and ceilings, covered with carpeting and illuminated by chandeliers — the guest rooms are equipped with a bathroom with a tub or a shower cabin.
We stayed in a Deluxe Twin Room, the size of this room category varies between 32 – 43 square meters of space. There was a separate table with two chairs, and a dressing table with a mirror.
Room amenities include a safe box and complementary Wi-Fi. Our bathroom had a shower cabin and was equipped with bathrobes. The view from our room opened up to the surrounding gardens.
Dining at the Spa & Wellness Hotel Zámek Lužec
One of the highlights of the hotel is the 15th century Medieval Pub serving specialty dishes cooked in the Tandoor oven which is a traditional clay oven, that has a sort of beehive shape to concentrate the heat.
The meats are cooked on skewers by either being inserted directly in the oven or over the mouth. We tried the fantastic mixed meat platter with tender chicken, beef and lamb, served on top of a flatbread which is cooked on the side of the oven, accompanied by grilled vegetables such as tomatoes, bell peppers, eggplants and a whole onion and garlic.
The restaurant features both indoor and outdoor seating, as well as a line of outdoor gazebos.
The Royal Restaurant completed with dark royal green velvet curtains, hand-painted ceiling and walls, embossed wall coverings and columns serves a selection of Czech and international dishes.
Daily buffet breakfast is served at the Royal Restaurant where guests can enjoy a selection of cold cuts, cheeses, eggs, fresh fruits, baked goods and cereals.
The lobby bar offers both indoor and outdoor seating serving a selection of coffees and drinks. Do try the freshly squeezed fruit juices. They are a great choice for a refreshing break — and healthy too.
Spa & Wellness Center at Zámek Lužec
The Spa & Wellness Center located on the lower level of the hotel features a spacious indoor swimming pool with a counterflow system, complemented with relaxation loungers ideal for moments of pure bliss. There is also an outdoor area accessible directly from the pool, where guests can enjoy the fresh air, soak up the sunshine and enjoy the natural scenery. There is also a Jacuzzi for two, Roman and Finnish sauna. The Spa is equipped with a modern balneology center, offering a wide selection of traditional and modern treatments. My friends and I enjoyed a relaxing afternoon by the pool, which was much needed after our afternoon trip to Karlovy Vary.
Spring Water
Guests staying at the Spa & Wellness Hotel Zámek Lužec can also enjoy the Lužec natural spring water which flows directly to the hotel and is known for its healing properties. The source is located on the ground floor right next to the Spa center and there is jug provided in every guest room which is used to keep the water and to quench your thurst. The water helps to normalize the metabolic processes, clean the body as well as add beneficial minerals to the organism.
