Last week I travelled to two countries in four days, with a stop over in Moscow and in Copenhagen, thus a total of 5 flights taken in less then a week. For such trips it is always advisable to pack light and smart.
I left Athens on Monday and flew into Moscow where I had a couple of hours stop over, just enough to take a small break and off to take the next plane. I was travelling with one of my colleagues so we had time to sit in a coffee shop. We picked a famous Russia brand called Shokoladnitsa, and since I wasn’t hungry I only had this berry juice.
We then met with another colleague who was catching the next plane with us from Moscow. The first city on our list was Vilnius, Lithuania. The airport customs welcoming was not that “welcoming” to my surprise as I haven’t experienced such treatment for a while. We then went to our hotel which was the Crowne Plaza.
As it was already around 11 pm and we were hungry after all the travelling we decided to check out the hotel restaurant which is located on the 16th floor of the hotel with a remarkable view of the city. To my great surprise while trying to capture the moment I realized that I forgot my camera battery at home. This was a very big disappointment as I never travel anywhere without my camera, thus all my photos of the trip where taken with my iPhone.
The next day we had a presentation at the hotel for travel agents who work with Tez Tour Lithuania where I did a presentation on Grecotel Hotels & Resorts and more specifically on the destinations Crete and Rhodes. Afterwards we had some free time and went to explore the city.
Once in the center we were met by the grand Cathedral Basilica and Bell Tower which is almost 57 meters in height and is considered to be the landmark of the Vilnius old town.
We walked around the streets and then decided to have a break in a small Italian Restaurant where we order glue wine and a platter of cold cuts, cheeses and a few varieties of bruschetta. On our way back to the hotel the weather changed thus we spend a few hours at the hotel before departing for our next destination which was Riga, Latvia.
We arrived to Riga in the event and that was all for the night as we had to attend another presentation in the morning. I will be sharing more details about Riga in the next post. In the meantime if you feel like organizing your holidays check out the latest flight offers with Airtickets.com. I usually use their services to book my trips and holidays.
