For lunch we crossed the marina and headed up towards the Palais Princier de Monaco. Here you can get the view of Monte Carlo from the other side. I had read about this restaurant called “U Cavagnetu” which was recommended on TripAdvisor, so I decided to give it a try, lucky for me I ended up on the grounds of the Palace. As for the restaurant what I have realized is that the tips on TripAdvisor are mostly for tourists looking for more economical dining options thus not necessarily the authentic local places. The restaurant is located on one of the narrow side streets close to the Palace and it can be accessed from two sides.
From the one side is a terrace which is where we sat as the weather permitted. The menu was quite extensive but we decided to go for a three course Menu (a mix of starters, octopus with rice, fish, apple tart and crème brûlée).
The portions are not too big (by Greek standards 🙂 ) but prices are reasonable. Service was quick! But if you want to try a great bistro read my previous review of the Bouchon Bistro here.
