Athens is a coastal city. The entire Attiki county, the core of which is Athens, is a region that is two thirds kissed by the Mediterranean sea that joins the Saronic gulfat the West coast. The coast of Athens typically begins at its oldest and most nodal port, Piraeus which is furthest point North within the limits of Athens city. From that point on, it is all coast to coast down south of Piraeus along the Saronic gulf that extends from the areas of Faliro, Kalamaki and Alimos before reaching the true Athenian Riviera areas of Glyfada, Voula, Vouliagmeni and Varkiza.
