As we arrived at the citizenM London Shoreditch hotel, a friendly member of staff pointed us to a computer screen and said please go ahead with your check-in process. Everything here is managed with a touch of a screen, remember we are experiencing the future of hospitality.

So we picked the floor and the side that we wanted to be on, activated our room keys and voilà, as simple as that. Welcome to citizenM London Shoreditch hotel and enjoy your stay.

citizenM London Shoreditch hotel: The Smart Room

Everything in this room is smart including the use of limited space. Don’t think that you will be walking into a grand suite sized room, however the planning has been well thought through with all the amenities that a global citizen needs.

There are international plugs in the room, free Wi-Fi, a desk space and ample cubicles to store your luggage.

The greatest highlight of all is that there are no switches, everything in the room is controlled with an iPad, from lights, to blinds and TV. There is a great selection of international channels, music included.

The XL king-sized bed is heavenly and the view that we had in the morning looking over East London was definitely memorable.

The lobby of the citizenM London Shoreditch hotel resembles a modern art gallery. Every single corner of the hotel is so Instagram worthy.

An open plan area with plenty of lounge corners is definitely inviting.

No matter what time of day you find yourself here, snacks and beverages are available at your service. My friend Marissa tried their cake and coffee in the evening, food can be taken up to the room or you can simply enjoy it downstairs while relaxing in one of the cozy corners.

The breakfast was hearty! With a selection of scrambled eggs, beans, sausages and crispy bacon, cold cuts and salmon included. A selection of juices, fresh croissants and great coffee.

Daily newspapers are also available on the tables so you can catch up on the world news while enjoying your cup of freshly brewed coffee.

My stay at citizenM London Shoreditch hotel was a fantastic experience. I was amazed with the integration of technology, comfort, luxury and contemporary art. Hotel lovers will definitely find this concept worth experiencing. Here you will not get your bathrobes or slippers in the room, however you will receive value for money and enjoy the hotel’s prime location.
