Marbella Corfu: A luxury resort in Corfu

by ElenaSergeeva

Beautiful azure waters of the Ionian sea, Venetian manors, imposing palaces  and vast, verdant landscape make Corfu a favorite destination for family, couples and friends alike. We have recently returned from one of Greece’s breathtaking islands — Corfu, where we experienced warm hospitality and luxury facilities of the recently renovated Marbella Corfu Resort.

Marbella Corfu: A luxury hotel in Corfu

Surrounded by lush gardens, amidst olive groves with sweeping Ionian Sea views, Marbella Corfu is one of the best luxury resorts in Corfu. Set on Agios Ioannis Peristeron beach the property caters to families, couples and adventure seekers.

The resort showcases an elegant design, with warm colours and pastel hues. Its 388 guest rooms, suites, family rooms and honeymoon suites  all offer panoramic views of the Ionian Sea. Each room is equipped with all the modern amenities for a relaxing and comfortable stay.

The resort is particularly family-friendly with plenty of fun-packed activities for the little guests and their parents alike. It is also a favorite holiday choice for couples of all ages.

Marbella Corfu: Junior Suite with Private Pool Garden View

During our Corfu getaway we stayed at a Junior Suite with a Private Pool overlooking a garden lined with olive trees.

The spacious suite features 40 square meters of indoor space and consists of a separate bedroom with a queen-sized bed and a sitting area with two sofa beds, which is separated by a sliding door.

The indoor sitting area opens up to a private terrace with a lounge corner, two sunbeds and a private pool. The suite comes with a separate walk-in closet, a bathroom with a bathtub and an energising shower. The bathroom amenities are organic Apivita.

The room also featured a working desk, complimentary Wi-Fi, tea and coffee making facilities, Espresso machine, minibar/fridge and a small-size safe box.

Dining at Marbella Corfu

Indulge in a culinary journey at one of the resort’s 6 restaurants and 5 bars.

Daily full American breakfast is served at the La Terraza main restaurant overlooking the sea.

Here we savoured a choice of cold cuts and cheeses, freshly made eggs, cooked in front of the guests, delicious pancaked and waffles, cereals, fruits and a selection of baked goods and breads.

The restaurant serves a selection of international and Greek dishes, and is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Twice a week guests can enjoy a thematic night with specialty dishes.

We also tried the Splash American Diner for lunch. This family friendly eatery is located right next to the children’s pool and serves a selection of burgers, sandwiches, salads, pasta and finger food dishes.

We tried their fish and chips and a falafel sandwich. A good option for a more laid-back meal.

On our last evening we made a reservation to try the à la carte, Comodo Italian restaurant which is located by the main pool, overlooking the lush gardens.

The menu offers a selection of Italian appetisers, salads and main courses. We opted for the fried mushrooms, refreshing mixed greens salad with nuts, dried fruit and prosciutto. For mains — I had the fish fillet in a vegetable sauce and my friend Chrysoula (TravelPassionate) tried the mushroom risotto.

It is recommended to make restaurant reservations upon your arrival as it can get quite busy. The resort works on a half-board and all-inclusive basis therefore you can opt for whichever vacation package suits you best.

During the evening the M-Bar located in the lobby area is the perfect spot for a relaxing drink where you can soak in the cozy atmosphere while listening to live music.

Marbella Corfu Facilities and Services

The hotel is set on a private beach which is accessible via an underground passageway.

There is also a separate deck area where you can spend your days lounging or snorkelling in the crystal clear waters of the Ionian Sea. Adventure lovers can enjoy a wide selection of water sports activities. The resort features two sea water and fresh water pools.

When you had your fill of swimming and tanning, head over to the Spa and enjoy a selection of spa therapies and treatments using the natural Apivita products.  There is also a separate Spa menu for kids.

Getting to Corfu Town and around the island

If you wish to explore the island it is highly recommended that you rent a car.

Otherwise to get to Corfu Town you can either get a taxi which costs 30 Euro one way or take the bus (1,80 Euro per ticket). The bus stop is located right across the road from the resort. Check the timetable with the reception. Or visit the website here: www.greenbuses.gr. There are different timings depending on the season.
