Last Sunday I was invited for Brunch at the St. George Lycabettus Boutique Hotel in Kolonaki. Sunday is a perfect time to head downtown, especially if you are living in the South of Athens. The roads are empty as the locals are still tucked in their beds, after a long night out usually until early morning hours. Athens is indeed a city that never sleeps.
If you want to enjoy a delicious late breakfast or an early lunch while listening to the soothing sounds of a live jazz band, then Brunch at the La Suite Lounge at the St. George Lycabettus Boutique Hotel is definitely your place. Here you will find a rich selection of cold cuts and cheeses, mini burgers, freshly prepared omelet of your choice, salads, smoked salmon and bagels, totally New York style. If you have a sweet tooth then the sweets section will be your little heaven, with a whole range of home made cakes and a Chocolate Fondue Fountain. Yep, get ready to munch away! If you are looking for a place to go with children, then you will be pleasantly surprised as the hotel organizes a special Kids Corner that entertains the little guests while their parents are enjoying their brunch. The afternoon was also celebrated with a new creative cocktail called Bacardi Supernature prepared by Alejandro Gkikopoulos. Combining rum, coconut cream, lime, orange liquor, and aromatic bitters topping the rim with dried coconut and black salt. This cocktail has been created to promote the Tiki Culture in 2015. For those who are not aware of this culture, Tiki culture is a 20th-century theme used in Polynesian-style restaurants and clubs originally in the United States and then, to a lesser degree, around the world. The Mai Tai is considered to be the quintessential tiki cocktail. Sunday Brunch is served from 12:00-16:00 Price per Adult: 18€ Children up to 12 years old: 9€
